With the advent of revolutionary advances in science and technology – cloud computing, IoT, artificial intelligence, gene editing, robotics, and so on – that have together been dubbed the Fourth Industrial Revolution, that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. In its scale, scope, and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before.
The possibilities of billions of people connected by mobile devices, with unprecedented processing power, storage capacity, and access to knowledge, are unlimited. And these possibilities will be multiplied by emerging technology breakthroughs in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of Things, autonomous vehicles, 3-D printing, nanotechnology, biotechnology, materials science, energy storage, and quantum computing
To be successful in this new era –the workplace increasingly requires a multi skilled workforce. The education system needs to transform itself, beginning with the reskilling and upskilling of educators to meet the requirements of tomorrow’s workforce
Students will be entering a workforce where disruption and uncertainty are the norm and a multi skilled workforce is the top priority
Our traditional education system is out of date and out of context of reality.
Therefore Education providers are implored to modernize, reform, and rethink the nature of primary and secondary schooling in our society, so the education experience is more relevant for learners and better aligned to community needs.
Transforming education is challenging, and there is often a discrepancy between policy-making and true change in the student learning experience
The challenge for education in the 21st Century is to create an approach that is agile, adaptable and in tune with real life context and their future employability. A holistic solution in education is complex, and using technology as the only solution will not solve these challenges. Even when introduced in schools with the necessary physical infrastructure, simply giving each child a computer will typically not impact learning or conditions that support learning without broader changes in the nature of the school’s teaching, learning and assessment practices. Information is overloaded, finding the facts and knowing the truths in this digital age is another challenge that needs attention towards the student community.
Effective change requires a more holistic approach to completely transform the learning experience of the students. Such change is in the hands of education leaders, policy makers, educators and communities. However, these change agents may not have the experience and broad knowledge of workforce needs, social trends, learning science, and educational technology to make effective progress at scale.
To address some of these needs among education change agents led to growth of Wisors Inc.
